Split System Air Conditioning Installations
Split systems are a fantastic all-rounder heating and cooling system that will keep your home and your family cool in summer and snuggly and warm in winter.
The beauty of split systems is that they suit homes of all sizes and are relatively inconspicuous when mounted on the wall.
Millerwatts South Yarra has been installing and maintaining split systems and providing effective heating and cooling solutions to the local community for over 15 years.
Through these years of experience our team intimately understands the benefits of split system climate control.
Firstly, a split system is ideal for inner city and apartment living given their small footprint and indoor and outdoor units. One part of the unit is mounted to your wall inside your home and the other half of the unit is fixed outside to the side of your house. As well as being relatively small, split systems give the operator a great deal of flexibility when it comes to controlling the temperature of your home.
Great flexibility is achieved by using a multi head unit which essentially gives you one outdoor unit and multiple indoor units allowing you to control the temperature of multiple zones within your house.
Not only do multi head units make your home more comfortable but that saves on a significant amount of energy therefore reducing your power bill and putting money back in your pocket.
How does a split system work?
To cool a room a split system draws in the hot/warm air from the room and takes it to the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit then circulates the air where it is cooled and then transitions back into the inside unit where it is released back into the room. As the split system works and more of the hot/warm air is taken out the more cool air that is released back into the room, therefore effectively reducing the overall temperature of the room to the preset temp.
Similarly the split system works in the opposite way when warming a room during winter, bringing in the cool air, warming it and releasing it back into the room.
How are split systems installed?
A split system installation is relatively quick and easy for a licensed electrician to complete.
Prior to the installation our team will visit your home to ensure the area ideal for split system installation and the area is prepped and ready, this ensures our installs run smoothly and there are no surprises. During this visit our team will assess the vent locations, your homes natural light paths, identify load bearing walls and review your ceiling space allowing them to play the most efficient and effective install for your new split system.
For effective heating and cooling, the location of your split system is key. If your split system is not installed in the most optimal position it will have to work harder and will take longer to heat and cool the area.
Once our team has reviewed your space they will then discuss product selection with you. Gaining an understanding of your heating and cooling requirements, budget and product preferences, they will then make a recommendation based on their findings.
The Millerwatts electrical team have put all the big brands of air conditioners through their paces and only select the highest quality units that meet the individual needs of your home and family.
